Jane Birkin was a British-French actress and singer known for her work in French cinema. She rose to fame with Blowup (1966) and Slogan (1969), where she met Serge Gainsbourg. They collaborated musically and cinematically, including the film Je t’aime moi non plus (1976). Birkin starred in Death on the Nile (1978), Evil Under the Sun (1982), and A Soldier’s Daughter Never Cries (1998). Her final film role was in La femme et le TGV (2016), capping a rich, decades-long career.
