Shirley Mae Jones (born March 31, 1934) is an acclaimed American actress and singer known for a career spanning over six decades in film and television. She rose to fame playing wholesome leading roles in classic musicals such as Oklahoma! (1955), Carousel (1956), and The Music Man (1962). Jones won the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress for her dramatic turn in Elmer Gantry (1960). She later became a pop culture icon starring as Shirley Partridge in The Partridge Family (1970–1974), alongside her real-life stepson David Cassidy.
